Jharkhand : Five members of a family murdered in Gumla

Gumla, Feb 24 (UNI) Five members of a family were found murdered in a house located at Burhatu Aam Toli under Kamdara Police Station area of this district on Wednesday.
The victims include mother, father, son, daughter-in-law and grandson, police said.
According to sources, the family was beaten with rods and sticks and hacked to death.
Gumla SP HP Janardhanan has confirmed the incident and he rushed to the spot.
The deceased have been identified as Nikudin Toppo, his wife Josphina Toppo, their son Winset Toppo, daughter-in-law Silwanti Toppo and grandson Ashawin Toppo.
The villagers came to know about the incident in the morning when they noticed Josphina's body near the main door of the house.
Nikudin's body was found in one of the rooms of the house while that of his son's family was found in another room.
According to the villagers the family led a simple life and had no dispute with anyone, police said.
They made their living from agriculture.
Police later brought sniffer dogs at the crime site to get clues.
It is being suspected that the family was murdered due to a land dispute.
