Counterfeit bottles of Yellow Tail wine found circulating in different parts of UK
Budget wine drinkers are usually not getting what they bargained for.
Counterfeit bottles of Yellow Tail, the ever present Australian wine identified for its reasonably priced chardonnays and Pinot Grigio, many of which value beneath $10 per bottle, are circulating in the U.Okay. One grocery store in England has even been busted for promoting the faux booze.

KVK Supermarket, a grocery retailer in Birmingham, England, was caught promoting 41 bottles of counterfeit Yellow Tail wine, Birmingham Live reported, after one shopper allegedly seen the coloring was off in a bottle they bought. The retailer could also be stripped of its liquor license, police mentioned in the report.

A shopper watchdog who bought six bottles of Yellow Tail mentioned the style and colour of the wine was off. After the criticism, Yellow Tail proprietor Casella Brands confirmed the wine was not genuine.
And the faux wine was additionally found in a neighboring city.

“There were some bottles found in [the nearby town of] Dudley, and there appear to be bottles found in different parts of the country — some were in the South and some were in the North,” Martin Williams of Birmingham City Council’s Trading Standards, told Birmingham Live.

Trading Standards, which regulates unlawful gross sales exercise, reportedly seized bottles of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shiraz and Pinot Gorgio on two separate events, all of which have been deemed counterfeit.
It’s unclear if any faux bottles have been found in the U.S. up to now.
