Body of missing girl retrieves from river water

Kendrapara, Feb 24 (UNI) The body of a 21-year-old girl, who went on missing at Govari last morning was fished out from the river water.
According to police sources, Itishree Lenka of Kainkula village under Pattamundai police limit on Tuesday morning went to clean herself in the river embankment but did not return home.
The family members came across her shawl and chapal on the embankment.
Suspecting the saltwater crocodile might have dragged her and killed her into the middle of the river, the girl, the locals with the help of fire tender personnel started a search and rescue operation. But they failed to trace out the missing girl.
On Wednesday at about 3 pm, the locals came across the body of the girl floating on the river water and informed Pattamundai police.
The police with the help of local fire tender personnel rushed to the spot and fished out the body from the river water and sent for autopsy.
Police said the autopsy findings would reveal whether the girl drowned in the river or became a victim of the saltwater crocodile.
