Mangaluru: Man arrested for sexual abuse of student on train

MANGALURU: The railway police, Mangaluru, on Tuesday arrested a man for allegedly sexually harassing a woman passenger in a train from Kerala bound for Mangaluru.
Shaiju,40, a resident of Kozhikode and a carpenter, reportedly tried to sexually harass a student who was travelling from Varkala in the train.
The student captured his act on her cellphone. After alighting at Mangaluru Central Railway Station, she filed a complaint with the railway police. The incident took place on February 19 in a sleeper class coach.
The police arrested him on Tuesday, and produced him before the court. He is booked under IPC Section 354(A) (assaulting woman with intent to outrage her modesty).
