Power stocks trade flat as ABB, Tata Power keeps bear at bay; NTPC, Power Grid top underperformers

Adani Green shed 1.87% to emerge the biggest laggard. However, it was NTPC and Power Grid that dragged the Power sector most.

BSE Power stocks were trading flat on Wednesday. The Index after getting a higher opening of 2,455.02 on Wednesday failed to add to early gains. NTPC and Power Grid dragged the sector most.

At around 2.20 pm, BSE Power was trading at 2,404.24 -2.87 -0.12%, touching a low of 2,392.66 during intraday trade on Wednesday.

ABB gained over 5% during intraday trade on Wednesday. BHEL also surged over 3% higher. Siemens was up 1.85%. 

Tata Power also gained 1.75% at Rs93.60 per piece. The company will issue NCDs worth Rs 900 crore on private placement basis.

NTPC shed 0.58% at Rs102.95 per piece. The company said that it has signed a share purchase agreement to buy GAIL's 25.51 per cent shareholding in Ratnagiri Gas and Power Pvt Ltd (RGPPL) to exit from Konkan LNG.

Power Grid  also lost 0.35% at Rs225.15 per piece.
