Police have released details of a man wanted in relation to the alleged attempted murder of a woman at a luxury hotel in Sydney’s CBD on Tuesday night.
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Matthew Donaldson, 41, who police believe may be in the Blue Mountains area and may be armed with a firearm.
He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, approximately 182 centimetres tall and of a solid build with light brown hair.
Emergency services were called to the five-star Primus Hotel on Pitt Street following reports a woman had been hurt about 11pm.
A NSW Police spokeswoman told the Herald a hammer was allegedly used in the attack by the man, who was not known to the woman.

Two NSW Ambulance crews were sent to treat the woman who had “cuts to her forehead”, a spokeswoman said.
Paramedics stabilised the woman and took her to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Camperdown.
Anyone who sees Donaldson is urged not to approach him but to contact triple-zero immediately.
