Former Sharks flyhalf Inny Radebe was on Wednesday named EP Elephants captain by head coach Peter de Villiers.
The former St Stithians College pupil joined the Elephants late last year and secured a place in De Villiers’ team for the preparation matches starting this weekend.
The Elephants open their account against the Bulls at Loftus on Sunday, where former Bok coaches De Villiers and Jake White will be in opposite dugouts.
Radebe (26) has been in the rugby wilderness after a knee injury scuppered his 2018 move from the Sharks to the Lions, causing him to miss an entire year of rugby.
He returned in 2019 to play for Durban club College Rovers, with whom he won the Murray Cup, scoring a decisive conversion to win the final against Durban Collegians.
