Ribena is to stop using plastic straws - saving an estimated 16 tonnes of plastic from being produced every year.
While cartons of the blackcurrant drink will soon be sipped through a paper tube instead, the wrappers for the new implement will still be plastic.
It comes ahead of a government ban on plastic on-pack straws attached to cartons coming into force in July.
Ribena's owner, Suntory Beverage and Food GB&I (SBF GB&I), is eyeing a target of having 100% sustainable packaging by 2030.
The decision to stop using plastic straws follows a trial of cartons with paper alternatives at Tesco stores, and Ribena has worked to strengthen the drinking tool for a wider rollout.
The refreshed product will start to be seen on more shelves by the end of this month, and across the board by April.

"We have taken into account all of the feedback to help us improve the new paper straw that is now being launched on the range across all stores.
"Saying goodbye to the final plastic straw is a great step on our journey towards 100% sustainable packaging by 2030."
