Comodo offers SOC as a platform

Security provider Comodo has launched a security operations centre (SOC)-as-a-platform that allows managed service providers (MSPs) to offer their clients 24/7 monitoring, management and full remediation with the hard work being done by Comodo's cybersecurity experts.

Comodo already protects more than 125 million endpoints globally.

SOCaaP means MSPs can deliver high levels of endpoint security to customers for just $4.30 per endpoint per month.

The company says Comodo MSPs will be able to deliver 24/7 analysis and remediation without any additional investment in headcount, and for only slightly more than the cost of a typical anti-virus product.

"Endpoint detection and response (EDR) and managed detection and response (MDR) products simply cannot protect organisations any more. Check statements/brochures from all EDR/MDR vendors, and it is clear they can no longer detect all malware," said Comodo CEO Melih Abdulhayoglu.

"So our focus, once a breach has occurred, is to try to identify it, track it and hopefully kill parts of the chain to minimise the damage caused."

He added: "We believe that waiting for a breach to occur and then trying to stop it later is a formula for disaster. Our customers sleep at night knowing that our unique and patent pending auto containment technology will stop any damage before a breach occurs.

"For malware to cause any damage it must write to the disk, memory or registry. When an unknown file tries to execute a write, it is isolated instantly in an inescapable secure virtual container.

"The user can continue to interact with the application and all writes are saved in a secure environment. In the background, Comodo Valkyrie (AI in the cloud) analyses the file and in 95% of occasions, it returns a verdict of allow or deny within 45 seconds. This translates into near zero impact on the user."

"This background is critical, as by using auto containment and Valkyrie, we are able to deliver to our MSPs the most cost effective and compelling security solution ever presented to them.

"The attackers are 24/7 and our customers' defences need to be in real time. Leveraging the Comodo global team elite security experts to identify and fix – not just report (typical EDR/MDR) products is game changing and has never been offered at anywhere near the price point of only $4.30."

Comodo ANZ regional vice president Greg Wyman said "This is an exciting time for MSPs. Cybersecurity is the number one issue on everyone's mind, and at only $4.30 per endpoint per month MSPs can deliver a 24/7 real-time remediation solution to their customers leveraging some of the best elite security experts globally.

"If a user is not satisfied, her/she can simply turn it off. There are no long-term commitments, just a simple month by month subscription and the option switch off at any time. MSPs can self-label our solution to increase their value proposition and profitability to customers exponentially."

The Comodo Cybersecurity SOC-as-a-Platform can be added to leading professional services automation products with just a few clicks, and from there it is deployable to customers with minimal effort.
