Woman taken to hospital after serious assault at Sydney CBD hotel

A woman has been taken to hospital after she was seriously assaulted in a hotel in the centre of Sydney on Tuesday night, police say.

Emergency services crews were called to the hotel on Pitt Street following reports a woman had been hurt about 11pm.

Paramedics stabilised the woman and took her to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Camperdown.

Police have set up a crime scene.
