    Stock market update: MidCap stocks advance; Union Bank of India jumps over 5%

    NEW DELHI: MidCap stocks were trading on a positive note at 02:19PM (IST) on Wednesday.

    Shares of (up 5.41 per cent), Bharat Electronics (up 5.07 per cent), ABB India (up 4.95 per cent), Aditya Birla Capital (up 4.92 per cent) and (up 4.37 per cent) were among the top gainers.

    While MPhasis (down 4.5 per cent), Jubilant Foodworks (down 3.13 per cent), Cholamandalam Investment & Finance (down 2.34 per cent), The New Indian Assurance (down 2.3 per cent) and Adani Green (down 1.82 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

    The S&P BSE MidCap index was trading 0.69 per cent up at 20099.2 around 02:19PM.

    Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 112.65 points at 14820.45, while the BSE Sensex was up 234.5 points at 49985.91.

    Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 were trading in the green, while 24 were in the red.

    Shares of Vodafone Idea, Bosch, YES Bank, Central Bank of India and IOB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

    Shares of Hind Copper, IIFL Finance, Redington, Rain Industries and Zensar Tech hit their fresh 52week high in today's trade.
