Jaipur: Congress chief whip Mahesh Joshi, who had filed a special leave petition (SLP) in the Supreme Court challenging the high court directive on July 24 last year ordering the maintenance of status quo on the demand to disqualify 19 MLAs of the Sachin Pilot camp for violating the party whip, wrote to the apex court on Monday that he was not interested in pursuing the case further “following subsequent developments”.
He has, however, said the court may examine the issue of legality raised by the SLP on merit.
Mahesh Joshi had approached the assembly Speaker on July 13 seeking disqualification of 19 Congress MLAs, including Sachin Pilot, who had rebelled against the party. tnn
