Imphal, February 22 2021: The Police Department detained 273 persons for violating the guidelines and restrictions issued by the State Government and the State Disaster Management Authority in connection with COVID-19 pandemic.

All were released after due warnings.

A sum of Rs 37,150 (thirty seven thousand one hundred and fifty) were collected as fines as per law.

The Police Department warned that those who violate the guidelines and restrictions shall be dealt with strong legal action under National Disaster Management Act 2005 and other appropriate laws.
