Krafton may announce and release PUBG Mobile 2 as early as next week. It’s been suggested that the South Korean company has a PUBG Mobile 2 release date slated during the ongoing PUBG Global Invitational.S for the PC version of the game. In addition to the aforementioned release, PUBG dataminer and leaker PlayerIGN (no relation to IGN or IGN India) has also stated it would be set in 2051, feature futuristic weapons, and have a brand new map. Previously, PlayerIGN claimed that PUBG 2 for consoles and PC as well as mobile were in development complete with cross-platform support.

It's safe to assume that PUBG 2.0 will use a newer game engine, presumably Unreal Engine 4. Project XTRM, which was revealed through a job listing last year, required experience with Unreal Engine 4, giving more credence to the rumour.
PUBG Mobile 2 India Release Date
It will be interesting to see if PUBG Mobile 2 makes it to India at all. Citing national security PUBG Mobile has been banned in the country. Sources tell IGN India that this is permanent. That being said, assuming that Krafton is developing PUBG Mobile 2 rather than Tencent and can guarantee the Indian government that it isn’t a threat to the nation’s security, it should see an India release.
That said, Tencent has had a hand in developing Call of Duty: Mobile that’s published by Activision as well as the upcoming Apex Legends that has EA as its publisher. Neither publisher have been served notices of a ban.
Since PUBG Mobile’s ban in India, Korean company Krafton took over publishing duties for the game in India from China’s Tencent, added “India” to the name, claimed to commit $100 million in investment for the country, and partnered with Microsoft to run the game’s servers in a bid to enhance data security — all in order to win favour with the Indian government. All of this seems to be for nought.
Interestingly, the ban on PUBG Mobile has done little to stop Indians from playing the game. According to analytics firm App Annie (via TechCrunch) PUBG Mobile’s MAU (monthly active users) from India is over 15 million.
