ETMarkets.comBenchmark NSE Nifty index was trading 137.65 points up at 14813.35 on Tuesday on account of buying in frontline bluechip counters.
Among the stocks that touched their 52-week highs on NSE were: Aditya Birla Capital, Adani Ports and SEZ, D B Realty, HLE Glascoat, Jubilant Foodworks, Mphasis, Somany Home Innovation, UTI AMC, VA Tech Wabag, Vedanta, Varun Beverages and Lakshmi Machine Works.
Overall, 41 shares were trading in green in Nifty50 index, while 9 were trading in red in the afternoon trade.
In the Nifty 50 index, ONGC, Tata Motors, GAIL, BPCL and Hindalco Industries were among top gainers, while Kotak Bank, Asian Paints, Maruti Suzuki, Bajaj Auto and Adani Ports SEZ were trading in red.
The BSE Sensex was trading 447.91 points up at 50192.23. Traders were seen piling up position in Diversified, Real Estate, Metals - Ferrous, Mining and Agro Processing sectors, while selling were visible in Infrastructure, Building Materials, Electric/Electronics, Agriculture/Horticulture/Livestock and IT - Hardware sectors.
