MADURAI: The Madurai city police have arrested the stepfather of an eight-year-old girl for sexually abusing her.
The girl’s mother remarried the man a few months ago. She had two children, including this girl, from her first marriage, police said.
Her second husband started abusing the girl three months ago. The woman came to know about it recently and warned him. However, he continued to abuse the child, and the woman decided to approach police.
Based on her complaint, the Tallakulam all-woman police registered a case under various sections of the IPC and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and arrested him on Monday.
