E&C Health Subcommittee Announces Hearing on Telehealth
Energy and Commerce Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Health Subcommittee Chairwoman Anna G. Eshoo (D-CA) announced that the Health Subcommittee will hold a fully remote hearing on Tuesday, March 2, at 10:30 a.m. (EST) on telehealth policy in the United States. The hearing is entitled, “The Future of Telehealth: How COVID-19 is Changing the Delivery of Virtual Care.”
“The COVID-19 pandemic necessitated rapid adoption of telehealth services to allow Americans to continue to safely receive routine care from their health care providers,” Pallone and Eshoo said. “In order to expedite that adoption, Congress provided new flexibilities and resources to support the transition to virtual care across the country. At next week’s hearing, we will hear from experts about what’s working, what needs improvement, and what the future of telehealth care should look like beyond the pandemic.”
This hearing will be conducted remotely via Cisco Webex video conferencing. Members of the public may view the hearing via live webcast accessible on the Energy and Commerce Committee’s website. Please note the webcast will not be available until the hearing begins.
Information for this hearing, including the Committee Memorandum, witness list, testimony and a live webcast will be posted HERE as they become available.
