The number of recoveries crossed the 3-lakh mark in Mumbai city amid concerns over rising Coronavirus cases. The city reported 760 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, a drop from 921 a day earlier, and four fresh fatalities. However, the number of active patients under treatment increased to 7,397. Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has warned that the cyber cell is keeping a close eye on those who are spreading false rumors that lockdown has been reimposed in Maharashtra and warned of stringent action. Meanwhile, Transport Minister Anil Parab said that the minimum fare for Mumbai's autorickshaws and taxis will be Rs 21 and Rs 25 respectively from March 1 after a hike of Rs 3 was approved.

Mumbai: 8 revenue dept staffers at Mantralaya contract COVID-19
At least eight employees attached to the Maharashtra governments revenue department and posted at the state secretariat here have tested positive for COVID- 19. Nearly 22 staffers from the department didn't report to work on Monday after the three-day long break, and all of them said that they had developed symptoms, of which eight have tested positive.
Former Shiv Sena MLC Anant Tare dead
Former Shiv Sena MLC and three-time mayor of Thane city Anant Tare died at a private hospital here on Monday. He was 67 and is survived by wife, a son and daughter. Tare was not keeping well and was in the hospital for the last two months. Mumbai reported 760 new COVID-19 cases after reporting over 900 cases for two days in a row. According to the data, with 634 more patients recovering from COVID-19, the number of people discharged from hospitals crossed the 3-lakh mark and jumped to 3,00,180. The number of patients under treatment also rose to 7,397 in Mumbai, where the COVID-19 recovery rate stood at 94 per cent.
