Eight employees from Mantralaya test positive for Covid-19

MUMBAI: On Monday, atleast eight employees from the revenue department of Mantralaya have tested positive for Covid-19.
Nearly 22 staffers from the department didn't report to work on Monday after three-day long break and all of them said that they had developed symptoms, of which eight have tested positive. Some of the them have been admitted to St George Hospital.
Besides these, another 20 from various departments have shown symptoms for the virus and did not report to work on Monday.
In the initial months of the pandemic, the Mantralaya building was a hotspot for Covid-19 cases.
Staffers from education, agriculture, and fisheries too have complained of symptoms over last few days. With the cases in the state secretariat going up, the employees union have written to state chief minister Uddhav Thackeray and public health minister Rajesh Tope to impose restrictions regarding visitors inside the building and also follow other Covid-19 related protocols.
