Cong will be defeated in ensuing Assembly election : Rangaswamy

Puducherry, Feb 22 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition and N R Congress President N Rangaswamy on Monday predicted that the Congress party will be defeated in the forthcoming assembly election in the Union Territory.
Talking to news persons, after Congress-DMK government lost the trust vote in the Assembly, he said the confidence vote sought by Chief Minister V Narayanasamy was ''badly'' defeated.
Mr Narayanasamy, who spoke after moving the motion, has levelled charges against the Central government instead of stating that the election promises promised by him and what all were implemented.
The Congress members lost their faith on the government and resigned, he said, adding that when the strength of the ruling side was reduced, the opposition moved the no-confidence motion.
On the claim of the Chief Minister that several schemes were implemented, the former Chief Minister said all were implemented during the previous N R Congress regime.
Instead of introducing new schemes, Mr Narayanasamy pulled on his government by blaming the Lt.Governor and the Central government, he charged.
