Curfew in Jalgaon from tonight

Jalgaon, Feb 22 (UNI) Taking a serious cognizance of a sudden spike in corona cases in the district and following instructions of District Guardian Minister Gulabrao Patil, collector Abhijeet Raut on Monday declared a curfew from tonight 2200 hours to 0500 hrs across the district.
Also, all public programmes have been banned and all educational institutions in the district will remain shut until further orders, an order issued by Mr Raut said here.
In Jalgaon district, the number of corona cases had remarkably come down until recently, but they were steadily on rise again for the past three days.
As a result, Mr Patil monitored the situation for past couple of days and discussed the matter with Mr Raut this morning and directed him to take strict action.
Following this, the collector issued the order of night curfew in the district from 2200 hrs to 0500 hrs.
Anybody found violating this order will face action under section 188 of Indian Penal Code and sections 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act, the order added.
