Logansport man shot Saturday, police investigating, one arrested

Feb. 22—Logansport police are searching for a man who allegedly shot a 30-year-old man in Logansport on Saturday evening.

Jose Manuel Gonzalez, 29, of Logansport is wanted on a warrant for Level 1 felony attempted murder, according to a Logansport Police Department news release.

He faces a sentence of 20 to 30 years if convicted.

The incident happened before 5:33 p.m. in the 700 block of 13th Street.

Police were called to the scene at that time and found the 30-year-old man with a gun wound in his abdomen.

He was transported to Kokomo for treatment.

Police did not identify the man and did not know his condition as of early Sunday morning when they issued a statement on the incident.

The man was apparently involved in an altercation with Gonzalez, police stated.

Based on the police investigation, Gonzalez shot the man, and he and a woman left the scene.

The female suspect, identified as Xochiti Luis Antonio, 26, of the 500 block of 13th Street in Logansport, was arrested at her home on a warrant for Level 5 assisting a criminal activity, according to police.

Police officers did not find Gonzalez at her home.

Antonio faces a sentence of one to six years if convicted.

All suspects are considered not guilty unless otherwise proven in a court of law.

The Logansport Police Department continues to investigate the situation.
