TDB awards 12 companies for commercialising indigenous technology

New Delhi, Feb 22 (UNI) Technology Development Board (TDB) has selected 12 companies for the National Technology Awards 2020 for successfully commercialising innovative indigenous technologies.
They have been selected under three categories -- indigenous technologies, MSME, and startups.
The national award winners for commercialisation of indigenous technology are L&T Special Steels and Heavy Forgings, Surat, Vinati Organics, Mumbai, AKS Technology Services, Noida,
In the MSME category, the companies selected are SVP Laser Technologies, Chennai, Kan Biosys, Pune, AlgaIR Nutrapharms, Tanjavur, and RAR Engineering, Delhi.
The Startups that got the award are Fibeoheal Wound Care, Bangalore, Althion Technology Innovations, Hyderabad, KB Sciences, Pune, Shiva MedTech, Ahmedabad, and Newndra Innovations, Jaipur.

The Board, a statutory body of Government of India under the Department of Science and Technology, selected the winners from 128 applications after thorough examination by eminent technologists and a stringent two-tier evaluation process.
Every year, TDB seeks applications for national awards for commercialization of technologies under these three categories.
These awards conferred to various industries provides a platform of recognition to Indian industries and their technology provider, who have worked as a team, to bring innovation to the market and contributed to the vision of “Aatma Nirbhar Bharat”, said the DST in a release.
TDB provides financial assistance to companies working for commercialization of indigenous technologies and adaptation of imported technologies for domestic applications.
Since its inception in 1996, TDB has funded more than 300 companies for commercialization of technologies. The notable amongst the companies supported by TDB over the years are Bharat Biotech, Shantha Biotechnics, Biocon India, Reva Electric Car Company, Tata Motors (for Indica), Zen Technologies, VEM Technologies Su Kam Power System Limited, and Sahajanand Laser Technology Limited.
