GANDHINAGAR: Chief minister
Vijay Rupani, who is undergoing treatment at U N Mehta Hospital in the city after testing positive for
Covid-19, will fly to Rajkot from the hospital on Sunday, under medical supervision, to cast his
vote in the
municipal corporation election. Rupani is registered as a
voter in Rajkot.
CM Rupani said from the hospital on Saturday, “As per doctor’s advice, I am now fit to travel and cast my vote. So I have decided to vote in the municipal corporation election at Rajkot, where I am a registered voter. I will follow all Covid-19 prevention guidelines while voting. I will fly to Rajkot under medical supervision.”
Rupani had fainted on stage last Sunday while addressing an
election campaign rally in Vadodara. He was shifted to the U N Mehta hospital, where his Covid-19 test was positive. He has recovered fully and has no symptoms, but will have to follow protocols until his mandatory quarantine period ends.
