01:29CM Rupani tested positive for COVID: Dy CM Nitin Patel

The CM is expected to fly to Rajkot soon to cast his vote in the civic polls.
“The CM's RT-PCR test was conducted at 6.45am. The result is negative. His condition is stable,” said a senior doctor from UNMICRC.
The state government officials said that Rupani would follow the guidelines by the Election Commission for voting by the Covid-19 positive persons and would exercise his voting right with due care and precaution.
“The CM is likely to cast his vote at 5.15pm at Anil Gyanmandir School Room No 7, Raiya Road. The Election Commission has asked the Covid-19 positive persons to exercise their right in the last hour - from 5pm to 6pm,” said a state government official.
The CM had collapsed on stage on February 14 night during a rally in Vadodara after which he was taken to Ahmedabad and was hospitalized.
The next day he had tested positive for Covid-19.
On February 15, state deputy CM Nitin Patel had told the media that the CM’s infection was mild, and his vitals were stable. “He will be under medical observation for the next five to seven days,” Patel told the media.
“The condition of the CM was primarily due to exhaustion related to continuous poll tours and meetings of the Parliamentary Board of the party.”
Two other senior leaders of BJP - Kutch MP Vinod Chavda and general secretary Bhikhubhai Dalsaniya – had also tested positive for Covid-19.
