Debutant Kaif Ahmed's 75 helps Bengal beat Services by 70 runs in Vijay Hazare cricket

Kolkata, Feb 21 (UNI) Debutant Kaif Ahmed made his presence felt at the iconic Eden Gardens with his willow slamming a defiant 75 from 53 balls that helped Bengal beat Services by 70 runs in the opening play of the Vijay Hazare Trophy here on Sunday.
Sent to batting, Bengal scored 315 for a loss of six wickets in 50
overs, and then they bowled Services all out in 245 in 49.4 overs.
Bengal bagged four points from the first win in Elite Group E play.
The twenty-three-year-old right-handed batsman was on quickfire and made his first 50 from 40 balls and finally remain top scorer for the host with 75 hittings 11 boundaries and two lofty sixes
Captain Amiustip Majumder was also a great inspiration for the team as he contributed 58 runs from 61-ball with six to the fence and one above the boundary line.
Top order batsmen Vivek Singh and former skipper Abhimanyu Eswaran scored 39 each to take on scoring over 300.
Facing a moderate target score of 316 to win, Services collapsed at
245 despite a brilliant 90 from captain Rajat Paliwal in 102 balls and Pulkit Narayan scored 53.
Bengal four bowlers Ishan Porel 2/31, Mukesh Kumar 2/51, Akash Deep 2/43 and Shahbaz Ahmed 2/46 shared eight wickets
among them.
