Pakistan's conspiracy against Bangla language still continuing: experts

Dhaka, Feb 21 (UNI) Conspiracy against Bangla language and culture by Pakistan started since the partition. We gave befitting reply to them by launching language movement and war of liberation.
But the conspiracy by Pakistan and their followers against Bangla language and culture is continuing till now, said speakers at a programme on Sunday.
They remarked while addressing a discussion at ERF auditorium in the city.
The event was organized marking the Martyred Day and International Mother Language Day.
Open Dialogue Bangladesh, a voluntary organization, organized the event titled ‘Language Movement of 1952 and Independence’.
Veteran journalist Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul attended the event as the chief guest.
Basudev Dhar, president of Indian Media Correspondents’ Association, Bangladesh (IMCAB), chaired, while journalist Aminul Islam Bhuiyan moderated.
In his address, Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul said, Urdu was imposed on us in the name of religion. But Urdu is not a language of Muslims.
Pakistanis had determined the character of a language from the communal point of view. Their objective was to damage the cultural and nationalistic spirit of Bengalees. But we fought against them and got our independence in a sequel to the fight, he said.
Dr. Monoranjan Ghosal, an artiste of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendro, stressed on making the future generation by including the history of our independence in syllabuses from Class I to Class 12. If it is not done, we have to live with Pakistani passport holders in the days to come, he warned.
Gobinda Chandra Pramanik, a supreme court lawyer, said the defeated forces have not yet changed their behaviour. Different types of conspiracy are being hatched by ISI and militants against us till now, he said, calling for remaining alert about them.
Dr. Mohammad Abdul Hye, a former teacher of Dhaka University, said speaking in Bangla in a well manner is a protest against Pakistan.
He called for taking pledge on this day for practice of Bangla language in well and correct way.
