HYDERABAD: Telangana on Sunday recorded 163 new cases of
Covid-19 and one death.
The total number of cases so far in the state have now touched 2,97,598 while the death toll is 1,624.
So far, 2,94,243 patients in the state have recovered from the coronavirus infection.
The number of active cases in the state is currently 1,731 and the recovery rate is currently 98.87 per cent.
The case fatality rate (CFR), which represents the number of people dying due to the virus as compared to the number of people infected, is currently 0.54 per cent in the state.
At the current CFR one in every 200 patients are succumbing to the virus while as per the recovery rate, 99 out of 100 are recovering.
On Sunday, a total of 23,607 samples were tested.
With this Telangana has completed 84.6 lakh tests and has reached 2.27 lakh sample testing per million population.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation recorded 29 new cases on Sunday - the highest among districts.
This was followed by 12 cases in Ranga Reddy, 11 cases in Medchal Malkajgiri and 10 cases in Karimnagar.
Apart from Kamareddy, Nagarkurnool and Narayanpet, all other districts recorded new cases on Sunday.
