Mehbooba advocates talks with locals & Pak to stop violence in Kashmir

Srinagar, Feb 20 (UNI) Reiterating her demand to hold talks with locals and Pakistan to stop violence in Kashmir valley, former Chief minister and Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti said how long will our youths continue to lose lives to bullets.

Talking to reporters after visiting the Ashmuqam Anantnag house of police constable Suhail Ahmad who was killed alongwith another cop in a firing by gunmen in Barzulla area of the civil lines, Srinagar on Friday, she said he (Suhail) was just four when his father was also killed. He has two minor children, she said.

“ How long our police and other jawans will be killed”, she said Government of India (GoI) should come forward for the peaceful resolution of the issue so that such destruction is stopped.

“ Government should start dialogue with local people and Pakistan to restore peace”, she said, adding BJP is always claiming that Pak was involved in the bloodshed in Kashmir and at least to stop this violence they should hold talks with the neighbour.

“Our grave yards are full of dead”, she said adding how long we will continue to fill mud on bodies of our jawans".
