India vs England: ‘Some stadium this is’ – Ben Stokes in awe of new Motera ground | Cricket News – Times of India


AHMEDABAD: England and India gamers have begun coaching on the refurbished Sardar Patel Stadium in Motera with some of them tweeting footage and movies of the ground, together with the star all-rounder in the guests’ camp, Ben Stokes.
The new stadium has a seating capability for 1,10,000 spectators, essentially the most in the world for any cricket stadium. The stadium was closed in 2015 for reconstruction; and subsequent week’s Test between India and England, the third of the continuing sequence, would be the first worldwide to be performed on the ground since November 2014.
Stokes quote-tweeted a video by England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), which confirmed England pacers doing sprints.
“Some stadium this is…..and a bit of local music to help get through to the end,” wrote Stokes on his Twitter account because the PA system on the venue performed Vande Mataram.

India’s wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant tweeted an image of his with skipper Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Ishant Sharma and native lad Axar Patel in the health club.
“Great to have our first gym training session with the team at the new Motera stadium,” he wrote because the caption.

“Fantastic to be at the new facility in Motera, great to see such world class facilities for cricket in Ahmedabad. Looking forward to taking the field here on 24th,” added Pant.

All-rounder Hardik Pandya additionally tweeted footage of himself in the health club.
“As if the stadium in itself wasn’t enough… the high performance gym setup and surpassed all expectations. Magnificent!,” he tweeted.

“It feels surreal to be out here at the world’s largest cricket stadium, Motera. Absolutely magnificent,” added Pandya in one other tweet.
