In wake of a fresh COVID surge, district collector, Avinash Lavania, has appealed to the people of Bhopal to continue taking precautions for protection against coronavirus. He stressed that coronavirus is still there and guidelines issued by the government/administration on appropriate behaviour during Covid times continue to be relevant.

He further appealed to people to observe their festivals with amity and goodwill, but at the same time ensure that festivities don`t lead to a spurt in coronavirus infections.

Lavania said that there are simple ways to protect yourself from the deadly infection — wear a mask when you step out of the house, observe social distancing, do not touch things unnecessarily, don`t go into a crowded place, and maintain six feet distance from one another.

If we observe these simple norms, we shall be able to celebrate our festivals in a befitting manner and at the same time ensure that coronavirus infection doesn`t spread in the city, the collector said.
