I believe 2020 has been the biggest year for everyone so far. New ventures that never existed before have popped from nowhere and ventures that were doing really well have hit rock bottom. It hasn’t been an easy journey for everyone. However, it’s been a beautiful journey for many.

I personally found a lot more time due to the lockdown, all of my work moved to the phone and zoom calls; working became seamless for me. There were fewer delays and more enthusiasm from people on their entrepreneurial journeys as well since it became a make it or break it situation. Everyone realized that a catastrophe has hit the world. We as a generation need to adapt and do something to make things pan out.

Despite how 2020 has been a heavy setback for the planet and changed thought processes altogether. I believe that a lot of good has come out of it; from a business perspective as well as personal growth and wellbeing perspective: Tarang Chandola

The real realization, that I felt came in for some people, was a few months into the situation where the world unanimously adopted a more stoic philosophy towards life. The philosophy being- this is the situation we are in, these are the cards that life has dealt with us, let’s make the most of it.

I have had more ventures and start-ups reach out to me in the past 8 months than I have had in the past 8 years. Some of them were looking for investment & some for mentorship. One thing that was common in all of them, their zest to do these ventures.

I believe a huge part of that pertains to the fact that people started spending more time with themselves and realized that they wanted to change their life and live a more fruitful one. COVID-19 was a massive reality check, it made us value time while understanding that we are mere mortals. Basically, anything can happen to us at any given moment.

This gave everyone the opportunity to think about what they want to do with their lives. Hence, I see the enthusiasm in these ventures. Everyone I am in communication with has moved towards ventures that lie in sync with what we wish to achieve with respect to our lives.

I have seen some superb innovative ideas pop up in 2020. I have also noticed a change in the trend toward more sustainable ideas and health/longevity-based ventures. For someone whose life revolves around creating a better world and achieving your human potential; it’s been a beautiful experience for me.

Despite how 2020 has been a heavy setback for the planet and changed thought processes altogether. I believe that a lot of good has come out of it; from a business perspective as well as personal growth and wellbeing perspective. People are constantly showing a lot of grit and determination towards ventures, while logically innovating and molding to our current situation. I think it has been a great year for personal development.

Looking  ahead at my workplace, family friends, and society

As an entrepreneur, someone who wants the world to be a better place and someone striving to reach optimal human performance, I have 3 main takeaway points that I wish people to think about. Firstly, I believe everyone should priorities health and wellbeing.

Focusing on living a better quality of life, being healthier, having a better immunity, living without stress and learning how to deal with difficult situations without it impacting one’s mental health.

Move towards journeys that fulfill your heart and let you live in the present… start focusing on ideas, ventures, jobs, and employment opportunities that make you happy: Tarang Chandola

Secondly, I would want everyone to understand that a situation like climate change is real and a COVID-19 like situation has shown us how things like staying at home have had a drastic improvement in our environment. While I am not asking people to stay at home, I am definitely requesting them to focus on whatever can be done to live on this planet more sustainably.

A better planet means a better quality of life for everyone. Which directly correlates with health. For example, the pollution levels in Delhi can drastically reduce our life expectancy. Had we had a better environment we would be better primed to survive on this planet? That should always be our primary concern. Wealth without health is honestly quite pointless.

Keeping the first two things in mind, I’ll come to my third point which is important for all entrepreneurs. “Move towards journeys that fulfill your heart and let you live in the present.” What I mean when I say that is, starting focusing on ideas, ventures, jobs, and employment opportunities that make you happy.

I know this sounds weird coming from someone who has been an angel investor and serial entrepreneur but with the limited wisdom that I have, this is what I believe is extremely important. If you are not happy with what you are doing on a daily basis. If you are not living in the present and enjoying the journey that you are on every single day.

That means, you are not optimally living life. Which will eventually not be sustainable. The one thing that I am sure of is the fact that everyone needs to be focusing only on things that they love. They need to focus on being happy and living in the present. The future is always going to be uncertain as COVID-19 has taught us.

That is the one thing that we cannot control. The only thing that we have in life are the cards that have been dealt to us. So, we should play the best game with those cards, while smiling, being happy, and living in the present.
