Voting for the fourth phase panchayat election in Andhra Pradesh under way. The polling started at 6:30am and will go on till 3:30pm. The counting of votes will begin from 4pm after the voting concludes. The fourth phase of polling is scheduled in 16 revenue divisions, 161 mandals of 13 districts.

Polling in Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam revenue divisions started
Polling began in Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam revenue divisions.
Nominations were not filed for two sarpanch and 91 ward member posts in the final phase.
As many as 7,475 candidates were in the fray for sarpanch posts in 2,743 villages.
About 554 sarpanches were elected unopposed resulting in polling for only 2,743 sarpanches.
About 38 per cent of the polling stations in Andhra Pradesh have been identified as sensitive locations.
Video recording of polling and counting of votes will be done for all the hyper-sensitive and sensitive locations.
Elections are being held for 2,743 village sarpanch and 22,423 ward member posts.
