Gurgaon: Even as the residents woke up to a foggy morning on Friday, the sky cleared as the day progressed. The maximum temperature was recorded at 26.4 degrees Celsius and the minimum hovered around 11.1 degrees Celsius.
The meteorological department further said that the temperature is going to rise in the coming days and settle around 32 degrees Celsius by February 23.
An IMD official said, “With change in wind direction from northwesterly to southeasterly, there will be an increase in the maximum temperature but the minimum temperature will remain the same. Though there will be no change in the next 48 hours, the mercury will start rising by 2-4 degrees Celsius in the subsequent two days. Dense fog conditions will, however, remain at isolated places in the morning hours.”
The official added that the sky will be clear with shallow to moderate fog on Saturday morning.
Meanwhile, the city air quality deteriorated marginally on Friday and slipped to a very poor category. The overall Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 338 on Friday against 296 on Thursday.
