To fulfil the need of housing in the state of Karnataka, the Karnataka Housing Board (KHB) was established in 1962, as a successor to the Mysore Housing Board. The board endeavours to provide affordable housing to the people in the state and improve quality of life, by providing state-of-the-art amenities. The housing board now develops both, residential and commercial, properties across the state and offers it at economical prices, with the objective to provide a good standard of living to the citizens of Karnataka.

Main functions of the Karnataka Housing Board
The following are the major duties of the KHB:
- To ensure eco-friendly surroundings for the people.
- To develop better infrastructure and urbanise areas.
- To improve the quality of living for the people of Karnataka.
- To provide them with affordable housing structures.

Main projects by the Karnataka Housing Board
Residential project in Hoskote, Bengaluru: Spread over an area of one acre, the building has 68 units to offer in 2BHK and 3BHK configurations. With all modern amenities available here, this is one of the most successful projects by the Board.
Residential project in Swami Vivekananda Nagar: This is another residential project, which is currently under construction and is expected to be ready for possession by June 2022. Around 153 units are available here, in 2BHK and 3BHK formats.
Residential project in Budigere Cross, Bengaluru: This is another project which will be ready for possession by March 2021. The project has three buildings with 593 units of 2BHK and 3BHK apartments.
Residential project in Whitefield, Bengaluru: This project offers plotted developments to home buyers, in a residential colony. Spread over an area of 12 acres, this one of the biggest projects of the KHB.
