UP’s budget session opened on Thursday amid the Samajwadi Party’s dramatic street protests. Some of its MLAs arrived for the session on tractors carrying sugarcane in solidarity with the ongoing farmers’ agitation and to protest against the state for not increasing the procurement price of sugarcane.
