Kim is asking for joint legal and physical custody of the couple’s four children, and Kanye is “fine” with the joint custody arrangement and committed to co-parenting together according to the outlet.
There is reportedly a prenuptial agreement, which neither party is contesting, and the two are “already far along in reaching a property settlement agreement.”
The documents filed in court do not list a separation date for the couple.
“Multiple sources with direct knowledge told us Kim was ready to call it quits after Kanye‘s outbursts, if not for Kanye going through a serious bipolar episode. She had felt it would be cruel to end the marriage when he wasn’t doing well,” TMZ reported of Kanye‘s erratic behavior and struggle with a bipolar disorder-related episode during his 2020 presidential run.
The two first met in the early 2000s, and he made his first appearance on her family’s reality show in 2010. They started dating soon after he professed his love for her in 2012 with his song “Cold.” They got engaged in 2013, and tied the knot in May of 2014.
This will be Kim‘s third divorce. She was married to music producer Damon Thomas before they divorced in 2004. She married Kris Humphries in August 2011 but she filed for divorce after 72 days. This is Kanye‘s first divorce.
They share four children: North, 7, Saint, 5, Chicago, 3 and Psalm, 1.
Here is how Kanye is reportedly doing amid the split.
