NDRF team carries out rescue operation after an overcrowded bus plunged into a canal in Sidhi district

Bhopal: The bodies of two more missing persons, who died after bus drowned in Sidhsi district this week, were fished out from Bansagar canal on Friday afternoon. Body of one person is still missing. Former chief minister Uma Bharti will reach the accident spot to meet the affected families.

The bodies of Yogendra Sharma and Ramesh Vishwarkarma have been fished out from the canal by the team of National Disaster Relief Force and State Disaster Relief Force. The team of NDRF and SDRF started their search operation from early morning. To enter the underground tunnel, they had taken the oxygen cylinders, search lights and other equipment. Earlier, it was reported that the army will join the search operation but it could not carry out the operations due due to certain reasons.

Early morning, water from the dam was released so that bodies trapped in water may come up. The team was camping at filter point and as the water current crossed the filter point, the bodies surfaced. The first body was fished out at around 10 am while the second one was taken out at 12 noon. One more person - Arvind Vishwkarma is - missing.
