Unseasonal rain in Nashik

Nashik, Feb 18 (UNI) Heavy rain, accompanied with hail, lashed some parts of the district including the Nashik city on Thursday, inundating low-lying area of the city and damaged standing crops.
Satana, Rahuri-Donwade and Bhagur areas in the district reported hailstorm, while torrential rains battered Trimbakeshwar, Sinnar and Kalvan in the afternoon.
Heavy rains started in Nashik city in the evening, disrupting power supply in many areas of the city. Heavy rains, along with strong winds, also hit Pimpalgaon Baswant in Niphad taluka.

The sudden downpour has caused a lot of concern among the farmers, as crops and horticulture were damaged in the district.

According to farmers, unseasonal rains have damaged onion and sorghum crop as well as grapes.
The local Meteorological department had forecast unseasonal rains two days ago. It had also appealed to farmers and citizens to take care.
