Schools conduct mock tests, spl sessions for board examinees

Ranchi: The students of Class X and Class XII are taking mock tests and attending doubt clearance sessions through both the offline and the online modes to prepare for their upcoming board examinations.
Sudhanshu Pandey, a Class XII student of Jawahar Vidya Mandir Shyamli, said, “Science students have to go to schools to attend practical classes, as it is difficult for them to learn about the use of apparatus online.”
The principal of Delhi Public School, Ram Singh, said that even though schools are open for Class X and Class XII students, the attendance was less than expected, with many students preferring self-study given the current scenario. “There is, however, good attendance during practical classes and mock tests,” he added.
Notably, many schools were conducting mock tests to assess students’ preparations. Most students did not get enough writing practice in the last one year, a school official said, adding that the mock tests would help students prepare better for their board examinations.
The principal of DAV School, Hehal M K Sinha, said, “Our school is conducting mock tests, followed by revision of topics. Even though the students took online classes, there are many gaps in their understanding.”
Meanwhile, many students are also preparing for competitive examinations online through coaching institutes. Owner of a coaching institute, Paras Agrawal, said, “We are carrying out topic-wise revision followed by mock tests and doubt clearance sessions.” He said that offline coaching classes have resumed in Kota, so many students from the state enrolled in those centres have gone back.
