Lucknow: Showers lower temperature, weekend to be warm

Brief thunder showers lashed some parts of the city on Thursday afternoon
LUCKNOW: The weather turned pleasant on Thursday following brief thunder showers in the afternoon in some parts of the city.
The conditions, however, will be normal again from Friday and temperatures will gradually rise by 2-3 degrees in the coming days.
The night was warm with minimum temperatures recorded in the wee hours to be 13.4 degrees Celsius, 2.4 units above normal.
Similar warm conditions prevailed during the day with maximum temperature soaring to 29 degrees Celsius, 2.2 notches above normal.
However, clouds appeared all of sudden and thunder showers followed in the afternoon, bringing relief from the ‘warm conditions’ prevailing for several days.
Total 1.6mm rainfall was recorded at the Met observatory at Amausi.
The Met department had predicted thunder showers for Wednesday, but the phenomenon took some more time for activation, said an officer.
Friday will witness a misty morning followed by clear sky with maximum and minimum temperatures around 29 and12 degrees Celsius respectively. Temperatures are likely to increase further on Saturday and Sunday.
The change in weather on Thursday was because of a cyclonic circulation over northwest UP. The moisture content in the atmosphere also rose because of the southeasterly winds coming from the Bay of Bengal.
