Tourism in Sreemangal upazila of Moulvibazar has started rebounding after experiencing huge losses due to the pandemic that has impacted almost all industries of the economy.
Traders in Moulvibazar area are very happy with the rising tourist numbers and consider that tourism business will continue improving if people adhere to the health protocols to steer clear infections.
Though the unprecedented pandemic is still hanging around, almost every nook and cranny of Sreemangal upazila is packed with tourists by now.
In the tea garden area, the arrival of vacationers has increased the work pressure on photographers and auto rickshaw drivers. At the same time, Manipuri market retailers are relishing the benefits as well due to a huge shopper’s turnout.
By now, the hotels, motels and resorts in Sreemangal are crowded with rafters and guests and anticipate that even more tourists will come in the days ahead.
Arman Khan, assistant general manager of Grand Sultan Tea Resort, have explained that for nine months, their hotel was closed due to Covid-19.
“But now customers’ queries are increasing every day. Our business is getting back to normalcy. We are now receiving more guests than before,” Khan said.
