Himachal: BJP, Cong roll up sleeves for 2022 polls

Himachal: BJP, Cong roll up sleeves for 2022 polls

Hamirpur (HP), Feb 19 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party and Congress party are on move towards the next Vidhan Sabha elections in the state in Hamirpur district after the successful ending of the PRI and CIVIC body elections in which the BJP got absolute majority in the district.

Both parties are gearing up for the next elections that are due in 2022. The BJP had already made the next elections as its Mission repeat 2022 programme and a final decision in this regard was also taken during its three days meeting that ended in Dharamshala today.

While the BJP has already started the campaign and its leaders mainly the Union Minister of state for finance and Corporate affairs, Anurag Thakur and his father –cum-former HP Chief Minister, PK Dhumal have been touring different parts of the district to woo the people towards the party so that it could win all the five assembly seats next time.

In the 2017 elections, the Congress party had won three and the BJP two in the district and that was a major setback to the BJP.

Anurag Thakur is on a two days tour of the district from tomorrow and will meet the people in different areas to tell them about the three farm laws and what the central government has done for them.

Thakur reached his Samirpur residence today from Dharamshala and had talks with the local party persons.

Similarly, PK Dhumal has also launched another campaign to create a dent in the Congress party and was enrolling the Congress party activists in the BJP after the party's grand victory in the PRI elections in the district.

No day passes without any group of the Congress people who don't meet Dhumal at his Samirpur residence and join the mainstream of the BJP.

On other hand, the Congress party has made three farm bills and price rise of various items as two major issues and the party was holding meetings in rural areas despite being a divided house.

The district unit of the party has decided to organize a massive procession in Hamirpur town on Saturday and it has invited its leaders and workers to come fully prepared so that a joint show was presented before the people and the state government.

Rajendra Zar, the district Congress party President says that the BJP has sold the nation to the big businessmen and it was not stopped; the nation would be doomed and would be sold to the Ambanis and Adanis.

He said that the party would continue to hold rallies and processions all over the district and mobilize the public opinion against the ruling BJP.
