Asus has announced the release date for its next gaming smartphone, the ROG Phone 5. According to the official website for the ROG Phone 5 as well as the company’s Weibo page, it's going to be launched on March 10, with an event at around 4:30pm IST.
As the new ROG Phone 5's name might imply, Asus is skipping the ROG Phone 4, largely because of the negative connotations the number 4 carries in Eastern-Asian cultures.
The Asus ROG Phones have historically featured top of the line hardware with prices that would rival the most value-for-money mid-ranged smartphones out there. Alongside with great hardware, the smartphones also tend to feature software and hardware features to aid and enhance the gaming experience on Android.
Asus ROG Phone 5 Specifications

- Charging: 65W fast charging
- OS: Android 11
In keeping with ROG Phone tradition, we also expect to see plenty of accessories and gaming peripherals to be revealed during the launch event. In the past, these peripherals have included cooling attachments, gamepads, and even an extra display.
