Synopsis

The highest was Rs 66 lakh, while collectively, they have received nearly Rs 2 crore. Mumbai-based Route Mobile had issued shares to about 200 employees before its initial public offering in September last year. The seven blue-collar employees have been working with it for a long time, some since its inception in 2004.

Seven blue-collar employees at the housekeeping department of Route Mobile hit a jackpot during the pandemic. Each of them earned upwards of Rs 20 lakh – several times their annual salary which on average is Rs 2.5 lakh – by selling their shares in the cloud communications platform provider. The highest was Rs 66 lakh, while collectively, they have received nearly Rs 2 crore. Mumbai-based Route Mobile had issued shares to about 200 employees
