Deshpande appointed VC of Ajeenkya DY Patil University
Prof Hrridaysh Deshpande PUNE: Eminent academician and educationist Prof Hrridaysh Deshpande has been appointed as the vice-chancellor of Ajeenkya DY Patil University. A statement issued by the university said that, with more than 27 years of experience in the field of education, Deshpande comes with the global expertise in innovation, design thinking, setting up of institutions, strategic planning, strategic alliances, and education management.
Deshpande is a visionary leader who has served in various strategic positions that required proficiency in organizational innovation, delivering pedagogical redesign, enhanced faculty and academic excellence and created a global student experience. Under his leadership Ajeenkya DY Patil University seeks to deliver academic excellence, diversity, and a global environment.
“It gives me immense pleasure to appoint Prof Hrridaysh Deshpande as a Vice Chancellor of Ajeenkya DY Patil University. As an accomplished and successful leader, he possesses a breadth of knowledge and experience. He has a deep understanding of establishment, overall strategy, implementation, and all aspects of efficiently managing educational institutions. I am sure, under his tenure the ADYPU will achieve new heights,” said Dr Ajeenkya DY Patil, President, ADYPU.
Speaking of the appointment, Deshpande said ADYPU will continue its focus on academic excellence. We will foster an evidence-based culture that allows us to demonstrate to all our stakeholders that there is a deep and meaningful return on our students’ educational investment. I believe that ADYPU must take the lead in launching a “learning/teaching revolution. ADYPU will be a more comprehensive university, expanding its curriculum to reflect new market demands, and operating as a global institution. It shall be my endeavour that it becomes a more widely recognized, highly respected institution among the nation’s universities with a well-established identity that is clear and compelling. Pune will be our home but the globe will be our stage.
