Left parties to organise Kissan Mahapanchayat on May 17 in Ranchi

Ranchi, Feb 19 (UNI) The Left parties in Jharkhand have decided to organise a Kissan Mahapanchayat at the Morhabadi Grounds on May 17.
Briefing the press after the joint meeting of the Left parties former Hazaribagh MP and state secretary of CPI Bhuneshwar Prasad Mehta on Friday said that the Centre has become 'arrogant' due to which it is ignoring the agitation of the farmers who are sitting on the borders of Delhi for the last two-and-a-half months.
He said that to express solidarity with the ongoing ryots agitation, the farmers organisations in Jharkhand are also staging protests at different levels. He said that going forward, in the month of March, Kissan panchayats will be organised from panchayat to the district level.
Mr Mehta said that in April, Kissan Panchayats will be held at division level while on May 17, a Kissan Mahapanchayat will be held in which leaders of Left parties, socialist leaders will participate and even Chief Minister Hemant Soren will be invited for the event.
He said that on February 21, effigy of the central government will be burnt across the state.

Financial Committees formed in Manipur
