The makers of Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone's '83 have finally revealed the new release date of the film. A few days back it was reported that Akshay Kumar's Sooryavanshi and Ranveer Singh's '83 will not release in the theatres. The Kabir Khan directorial, which chronicles India’s first World Cup win under the captaincy of Kapil Dev in 1983, will now release in theatres on June 4. Ranveer Singh took to Instagram to share the poster along with the release date. He wrote, "June 4th, 2021 !!!! ?? in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. Earlier, the film was scheduled to release on April 10, 2020 butt due to the coronavirus outbreak, it got pushed. The film stars Ranveer Singh in the lead role of Kapil Dev. It also stars Tahir Raj Bhasin as Sunil Gavaskar, Saqib Saleem as Mohinder Amarnath, Ammy Virk as Balwinder Sandhu, Sahil Khattar as Syed Kirmani, Chirag Patil as Sandeep Patil, Adinath Kothare as Dilip Vengsarkar, Dhairya Karwa as Ravi Shastri, Dinker Sharma as Kirti Azad, Jatin Sarna as Yashpal Sharma, Harrdy Sandhu as Madan Lal, Nishant Dahhiya as Roger Binny, R Badree as Sunil Valson and Pankaj Tripathi as their coach PR Man Singh.wife Deepika is also playing reel-life better half in the film as she portrays the character of Romi Dev. Talking about Deepika Padukone coming on board, director Kabir Khan told BollywoodLife, "I think the background, the fact that her dad, Prakash Padukone was a sports superstar, that influenced her very strongly. "Deepika liked the role, and that's why she agreed to do the film. We never initially intended it that way (Deepika being a part of the film), and as Deepika said, there's a certain support role that the family plays, and I wanted to capture that, which is why I wrote the character of Romi, and when I narrated it to Deepika, I knew it was a small role. So, I said to Deepika, 'Just listen to the film. If you like it, you'll come on board, if not, you won't come on board. She heard the film, and she knew it was about the team and the boys and Kapil.
