German call centre KiKxxl appeals against EUR 260,000 fine for unauthorised phone solicitations

Germany's Federal Network Agency (BNetzA) said it has imposed a fine of EUR 260,000 on call centre operator KiKxxl for unauthorised phone solicitation on behalf of clients including telecoms operators, energy companies and insurers. The agency said it had made cold calls to recipients who had given no consent, or no effective consent, to receive solicitations via telephone. The fine is not yet in force and KiKxxl has submitted an appeal.
