PUNE: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has issued an order on Thursday making it mandatory for passengers arriving from
Kerala to undergo
RT-PCR test on arrival. PMC has also given directives to put restrictions on celebrations of Shiv Jayanti scheduled on Friday.
"The decision has been taken to make sure that Covid-19 spread is curtailed. The passangers will also have to follow other directives issued time to time for controlling the virus spread," said Vikram Kumar, commissioner of PMC.
He said that the orders have been made effective from Thursday till the next orders are issued. The directives have been given in accordance with the sections of The disaster management act 2005 and The epidemic diseases act 1897.
As per the civic officials, usage of mask, following the physical distancing norms and hygiene practices will have to followed. If any violation is found, fine of Rs 500 as per the directives will be charged.
The directives for Shiv Jayanti state that usage of online modes and cable TV networks should be done, instead of organising public gatherings for any event as part of the celebration. Only 100 people will be allowed to garland the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj statue at one time.
The civic body has urged different social groups and organisations to conduct health camps and blood donation camps instead of cultural events ; as part of the celebration.
